My connection to North Carolina’s High Country began with family camping trips from Eastern NC. As I grew older, I kept coming back with friends to hike, camp, and ski. Those experiences led me to Appalachian State University, where I earned my degree in marketing—and decided to make these mountains my permanent home.

Today, my wife Tara and I are raising our family here and working together at Acclivity Realty Group. My marketing background and personal connection to the area shape how I help clients explore mountain properties and present their homes to buyers.

Bought a Single Family home in 2025 in Sugar mountain, NC.

This was our second time working with David. Our first was buying and the second was selling. Both events were flawless. He listened to our needs, thoroughly advised us the processes and was extremely great to work with. He would update us on progress or questions asked by buyers and always got back to us in a timely manner. Both negotiations were satisfactory to both buyer and seller. This is very comforting knowing he had our interest from the beginning process. We will be buying again in the nest 5-7 years and David will be our first call.

If your buying or selling in the High Country - do yourself a favor and call David first...just do it...and thank me later... We started our search for a vacation property a couple years ago with another agent and it just wasn't working out. After several trips to look at cabins we kinda just gave up.... until we found David. David was able to not only find a property in Banner Elk that was perfect for us - but his knowledge of the local area, pricing, and comps absolutely saved us thousands of dollars. We recently sold the Banner Elk Property and again David was the agent for the sale. He had us under contract in days - and closed in 4 weeks. The sale was so smooth and easy ... David was certainly more than just our realtor. His insight to areas, house structures, community was an attribute that a lot of realtors have but he always went that extra step in our house search and purchase. He took the stress out of the process and was available each time we had questions or concerns. David is the only one on our "highly recommended" list for a realtor. David was an outstanding agent for us. I didn't know him previously and actually used a smaller, locally known set of agents before and didn't have much luck. David stepped in and immediately raised the bar for us. He wasn't overbearing but shared logical, reasonable facts that helped us in several areas (significantly increased showings, sale price assessment, marketing ...etc). His style was connected and helpful without being pestering. He was committed to selling our house (and it was a tough sale - more on the expensive side in a tough part of Boone). It took his commitment to this project to push for closure in a short amount of time. He was a clear communicator and managed our expectations very well. He was responsive when we needed answers or needed a sounding board. I highly recommend David based on the experience we had.

Mr. Davis provided great service for us. We were not from the area where we were buying (northwestern NC). He was very responsive in updating information on listings and took care to show us all available homes that met our specifications. He did not limit showings to only his own companies listings. He assisted throughout the process from selection of home to negotiation to closing. I highly recommend him.

Our purchase was a difficult one because the house was left to multiple family members in two states. David was very involved with the whole process. He let us know we were offering to much for the house and negotiated for 24 thousand under asking price. He was so helpful! I would definitely recommend him!

He was very professional and helped us during inspections, appraisal and with other problems during the closing since we were out of town. We live out of state and found David on the internet, due to the his excellent website. After looking at houses on line for a while, we went up to Boone and met him in person, to go look at some properties. We were impressed right away by his professionalism, local knowledge, personality and total lack of pushiness. This first visit was more to get a feel for the area than to buy something, which David understood. We spent about a day and a half during that visit, during which we learned a lot, which helped us focus our search on certain areas. During our second visit a few months later, we found the house we ended up buying. It was not on our schedule to view, but it showed up as a price change on the website while we were there. David adjusted immediately and showed us that house. After that, the whole buying process took place while we were out of state. David’s assistance during the negotiations and inevitable glitches during the home buying process was invaluable. What could have been a very stressful time ended up much less so because of his professionalism and competence. We could not have found a better realtor! In addition, David has a great personality and is a very interesting individual. I cannot say enough good things about him. Highly recommended!

I spoke with David initially to inquire about a home that he had listed. That home didn't work out but over the next month, he was quick to send any new properties that came on the market that we may be interested in. We planned a weekend to view homes and he spend a lot of time planning the days to ensure that we had appointments to see all the properties that we were interested in as well as providing detailed information about each home. He did a great job.

Well recommended, honest and helpful. Does his job correctly! Answers all times of the day. Very patient with customers, I forgot a coffee mug and he went back to the property and found it for me. I didn’t ask him to either. Definitely a recommendation in my book.

The process of finding our new home with David was almost five months and he was always very responsive throughout the whole period. Several occasions he went beyond my expectations as a realtor. He contacted builders to inquire on adding a garage, contacted a POA president on my behalf, showed a home for us that was well outside his MLS area, etc. He even went out to the property we were making an offer on to measure out the lot's boundary. (We're 3 hrs away) He was respectful, approachable, friendly, has excellent local knowledge and more than met our expectations.

We live in Raleigh and were looking in Ashe County, so to save us pointless trips, he offered to go by some of the houses we had discovered online, so he could take additional pictures, get the lay of the land, etc.. He did lots of research for us regarding lost septic permits, and so many other things.
